Happy House is a course for children starting English at the beginning of the school system. It is an orally based course which does not require children to read and write in English.
Happy House can be followed by Happy Street 1 and 2 which introduce children to written English.
Happy House appeals directly to young children and involves them in a process of language learning which is fun and highly motivating. It follows a very clear pattern which will give children confidence and help them to learn.
Happy House introduces children to English through the adventures of a lively family with three children, their cat Otto, and the mouse characters who live under the floor.
Happy House components The Class Book provides attractive and colourful illustrations to support language presentation and includes closely integrated activity pages. Sticker pages provide a fun way for children to keep a record of their learning.
The Cassette contains target vocabulary, songs and chants, and stories for the children to act out in class.
The Teacher's Book provides full, clear teaching notes and includes photocopiable pages and suggestions for further activities.
The Teacher's Resource Pack contains a poster for use in the classroom and 60 colour flashcards for presenting vocabulary.
